My friend Erica blogged about this blog and I had to re-blog it (whoa...what a mouthful).
It's a blog about single mormon girls and it's hilarious! Not to mention TRUE!
Whether you're single, married, a boy, a girl, mormon, or not you'll like it.

That's Not My Name
So my favorite song right now is the Ting Tings 'That's Not My Name'. Mostly because it makes me dance but also because it was totally written for me.
My name is CH-ana. A little different but NOT difficult. Maybe because its been my name for 20+ years I don't think its weird at all or hard to pronounce.
So then riddle me this: Why can't people get it?
I have been working at my job for a year and a half. I work as a Marketing Rep and am fairly involved in company schtuff and know almost everyone's name which isn't hard because there are only about 50 of us. But there are still many people who call me the WRONG name.
I used to correct them and other coworkers used to correct them but after a year it seems a bit excessive to have to correct them each and every time.
Shanna, Chauna, Chaina, or Shaina...That's Not My Name!

5 Loves
I was tagged by one of my oldest friends Lindsey and since I have been a bit out of the world as of late I thought I'd participate!
So here it goes:
My 5 loves:
1. I love Freddie pants. He's a nerd...I'm a nerd...it totally works.
2. Family: I have the best family and also married into the best family. I wish the Wald's lived closer so we could see them all as much as we get to see mine. We have so much fun with both families, I'm really lucky. With Family is friends because often times our friends have quickly become our families.
3. Boot Camp. I know...who loves boot camp but I seriously do. I'm super sweaty and gross at the end but that means I've worked by butt off (if only it would literally fall off). I love to hate Shelley, my boot camp instructor.
4. Weekends: They are NEVER long enough. I long for Fridays and dread Mondays. I love doing anything on the weekends from nothing to crazy busy. It's nice to have a couple of days to just hang out with my husband, friends, and the cleaning supplies.
5. Event Planning: I love coordinating events, parties, dinners, etc. I love love it. Someday this will be what I do for a living...in the meantime let me know if you want me to plan something for you!
I tag...Emily, Amy, Davian, Mandy, and Stank

All Time Low
Here is a sample of some of the words I shorten on a daily business (most of the time without realizing):
OMG = Oh my gosh - sometimes I hate that I use this. But in reality it makes im'ing and texting waaay easier. But lately I've said it out loud…not okay.
Fab = fabulous
Whatev = whatever
Old gris = Old Grist Mill Bakery
There are lots more but I can't remember right now…of course.
I was just chatting with my friend Amy and was talking to her about my plans for after work. It wasn't until after I typed it that I realized I'd hit an all time low. I'd told her I was heading to 'robics after work. 'robics? instead of aerobics. Seriously?

Ode to the Crock Pot
Bless the person who invented this amazing appliance. Last week we had a scrumptious meal created by our crock pot almost every night. Bless her.
It's been awesome because I work all day, Fred's at school, and when we both get home we're hungry and I do not want to have to cook and then wait for it to be ready. So last week was deemed 'crock pot week'.
Monday: Taco Soup
Tuesday: Mile-High Enchiladas
Wednesday: Italian Chicken (and rice)
Thursday: pancake in the oven (not a crock pot meal was just as easy and delicious!)
Friday: Shredded pork burritos
We might keep this up. On this week's menu: Turkey tacos, Bean soup,Mexican Chicken Soup, and Turkey Chili…who wants to join us for dinner?

Don't know what to make for dinner tonight? How about this?

Happy New Year!
How many times can you say that you've kept a New Years resolution? If I answered this question I think my answer would be "um. like never. maybe?"

This year one of my resolutions is...to not make resolutions.
So I'm a huge tv junkie. love it.
While in college, my roommates and I may have been obsessed with One Tree Hill (One Gay Hill as Fred calls it). So in one of the episodes, Haley and Lucas talk about their tradition of making predictions at the beginning of every school year (because all high school students do that). Yeah it was cheesy but...I liked it.

So...
A couple of years ago, My sister Erin and I did the same thing. Kind of. We both wrote down a list of goals and a separate list of predictions for the 2007. We sealed them in an envelope and put them in my durable kid safe (next to my YW's medallions and every school picture anyone ever gave me). Yeah maybe it was a little dorky and I shouldn't admit that we got the idea off of a tv show but at the end of the year it was so funny to look back and read what we thought would happen and what our goals were for the year.
It was also much more fun than resolutions. To me resolutions are a bit...lame. Yeah I make them every year...but they are also broken by about February.
This year I'm going to create a list of predictions and goals and seal them like I did a couple of years ago - and i'm going to make "stuff" happen.
Do you make resolutions? Do they stick?
This is how we celebrated New Years (we were together...the pictures make us seem like we didn't):
