So my favorite song right now is the Ting Tings 'That's Not My Name'. Mostly because it makes me dance but also because it was totally written for me.
My name is CH-ana. A little different but NOT difficult. Maybe because its been my name for 20+ years I don't think its weird at all or hard to pronounce.
So then riddle me this: Why can't people get it?
I have been working at my job for a year and a half. I work as a Marketing Rep and am fairly involved in company schtuff and know almost everyone's name which isn't hard because there are only about 50 of us. But there are still many people who call me the WRONG name.
I used to correct them and other coworkers used to correct them but after a year it seems a bit excessive to have to correct them each and every time.
Shanna, Chauna, Chaina, or Shaina...That's Not My Name!

I feel for you... there are a couple people that work here that call me Sherry or Cherry, I have been here 8 months and it has been too long to correct them now. They hear other people call me Cherie even... I have come to the conclusion that some people just don't care.
I've just decided that I keep on correcting people! Because it DRIVES ME NUTS not to be called by my correct name!! I know how you feel! I guess that's why we are friends... we share a common annoying bond.... Chania:)
This totally reminds me of answering phones at the MAC. "Oh, hi Janet."(with a thick southern drawl) Also, you forgot to mention "Chauncy". Ha ha! I love that nobody gets your name right. I'm ocassionally called Michelle or Mckayla or something ridiculous but not as often as you do. I'm sorry. I still love you and I love your name! Jackie Chana...
I freak'n love the Ting Tings. They have a few other songs that are fun too. I love rock'n out to it!!

I wanted to let you know how thankful Matt & I were for you & Joseph to come to Bob's funeral. It truly means a lot to have friends that support our family & that truly loved Bob. So, although things were a bit crazy, I wanted to let you know... thank you. :)
Also, I know we don't know each other very well, but I want that to change! Okay!? Do you hear me? Whenever you guys come down here to visit John... call us! We want to hang out too!
