I want one

So yes. I want a pup. Go ahead and make fun of me but I want a little pooch like a yorkie. One like my friend Sydni's yorkie. Tiny - adorable - not yippy - the perfect apartment dog.

I've wanted one ever since that one time when we had one for 24 hours. We actually had one "in the oven" that we'd be picking up next month but mama yorkie lost them (it was a sad day for me). So now I still really want one and am waiting patiently until the day we find one.

Yeah yeah I know we're young - we're out of town a lot (not anymore) - dogs tie you down - blah blah blah.

I'm thinking we'll start with a dog and work up to kids. So if you like the idea of me having a baby in the future - you won't be mean about me wanting a dog specifically a yorkie.

OK, since I really want more grandkids really, really badly, where do we sign up for the puppy fund?

Kids are easier than dogs, sometimes!

you should get one and then come home a lot and bring it so my kids can play with it and then we'll send it home with you.

It will be the perfect tradeoff, you play with my kids and leave them and we'll play with your dog and send it home.... So tell Freddie you NEED one.

I say this in a REALLY NICE WAY.... People who have dogs and TREAT them like their children INSTEAD of having children are creepy! Not to mention a touch on the weird side... If you MUST have a dog BEFORE children just don't refer to yourself as "Mom and Dad" when talking to the dog! That seriously is SO WRONG on so so many levels.... You're not a dog parent you are a dog owner! Thanks! Take no offense please. I know that you are more mentally stable and are not replacing your future babies with this pooch that you want, so we're all safe:)

that's why we have a cat. we decided if we didn't kill or lose it we might be able to have children. it's a short trip from getting a pet to wanting children... Only problem was the cat has been an only child for too long and had (and at times still does) trouble adjusting that it's not all about him all the time

Ok so maybe I'm one of the wierdos but seriously Maggie has been one of the best things that has EVER happened to me. Maggie was my little baby for a while and still is. A dog will be your pal no matter what and I agree it's not the same as the love you share with your own child but it is a totally different bond. It will get you used to the dependency a child needs and tie you down just enough before you are tied down completely.
So I say go for it, indulge in a dog, it will be one of the best things you do and the memories will stay with you forever because when you have a dog it becomes part of your family:)

I think that a dog is a good way to fill the baby hungry symptoms. Our dog Maggie (good dog name I guess) adjusted great when we had Brooklyn. Now they play together all the time, and Maggie is quite the protector. DO IT, even though potty training a dog sucks!!

hilarious.
graham begged for a dog, and i totally that i would rather give him a kid than a dog any day. he almost took me up on that offer. almost.

i hope you get one though.

p.s. play date again soon.

Awww...yorkies are so cute. I want one too but Jared refuses to get a small dog. Apparently they aren't manly enough and aren't good field dogs. Sniff. I wish you luck in finding a new puppy!

Go for it! Dogs are great! We started with a cat, then needed another so she wasn't alone while we were at work. Then we had to get a dog (Kristine's had puppies, so we couldn't pass that up) and now we have a baby! We even want more...babies that is. No matter what people say, pets are a part of your family and do seem like children sometimes. Our dog LOVES Jayden and protects him. It is great!!!!
