Temple Time

While family was here, we also went to Temple Square. It was a first time experience for Grace, who was baptized last year, and recently went to the Oklahoma City Temple to do baptisms for the first time. It was really fun to be there with family. I don't remember the last time I went to the different exhibits at the visitors center.

I love the Temple.

Fred's Girlfriend

This is Randi. Fred loves her ( & so do I).
He will kill me for blogging this BUT it has to be done. She is by far his favorite dancer and when she gets on stage you'll hear comments like, "she's sooo good." "I love her" & "We're going to the tour this year because I have to meet her".

I love her because she's fabulous...has great hair...is stinkin' cute...AND she's a Utah County girl like myself who lives in my hometown. We love you Randi!

Are you voting?? Who for?

***Fred- I know you're reading this about a week after it's been posted. You don't sound lame I promise. I also promise to stop telling people things like "you giggled" or you were "grinning ear-to-ear". You're a manly-man and manly-men don't giggle. or say cheesy stuff. or grin ear-to-ear. So I'll try to make sure there isn't any confusion. Love you!

Chana Days Recap

I won't lie - this years birthday was pretty great. It was relaxing, calm, exciting, yummy, and filled with friends.

On Friday (my actual birthday), Fred and I went to breakfast then off to buy me some accessories for my new iphone (hello gorgeous...welcome!). Sadly, Freddie had to go bring home that bacon so he went to work and I went to the pool with my good friend Aubrei.

We had a BBQ with our friends Lauren and Tanner that night and then headed to the fireworks.

fred insisted on showing up to the car show in a clean car.

I stayed in the car and entertained myself.

On the 4th, we met Lauren and Tanner at the Scout Breakfast then headed to the Cruise In to check out the killer cars, lame cars, and do some people watching. Here are some gems:

This is a girl.

This is a boy.

**all weekend Fred was really weird. He kept stealing my phone to play games and was texting lots and lots. I just wrote it off.

So on Sunday - after church and a snack we were just hanging out at our house when Jake and Dana came over. Jake insisted on Fred going with him to help do something at their house. So Dana and I plotted for the surprise birthday party I've been planning for Fred.

About 30 minutes later, Dana gets a text from the boys telling us to meet them at the park. We get there and park next to Jake's truck. As we start walking into the park, I'm looking for Fred and I see a bunch of people we know. 'that's weird that they're here' I think.

As we get a little closer - I see a BBQ, more friends, and Fred grinning ear-to-ear. He planned a surprise birthday party for me!

It was so much fun! There were lots of friends we hadn't seen in awhile as well as new friends too. I don't usually get too cheesy about my husband but I will say that this was one of the most thoughtful and best surprises he's ever done! I loved it. I was so happy most of our friends were able to make it!

Overall, Chana Days was a huge success. I can't wait until next year! Although maybe I can because I'm bummed about 24...25 is even older.

Thanks for all the birthday calls and texts!

Chana Days

Lesson for the day: July 1-5 is Chana Days. I hope you celebrate to the best of your ability and I hope your celebration includes a snow cone.

Fred and I "discussed" what day my birthday was last week. It went something like this:

F: My birthday is on a Tuesday this year. Yours is on a Sunday."
C: Um. No mine is on a Friday. As in NEXT Friday…wait what day is my birthday??
F: July 5.
C: Are you serious? You think my birthday is on the 5th? Wow. It's on the 3rd.
F: Are you sure?
C: Yep.
F: Did you change it from the 5th?
C: Nope. Ask my mom.
F: But Chana Days is from the 1st to the 5th. Why would your birthday be right in the middle?
That doesn't even make sense.
C: Yeah remember how you don't know my birthday? And we've been married for how long?

We're so in love not even dates make sense...

Lesson learned.

While at work yesterday I felt an ant on my foot. Thought nothing of it. Hours later felt another. Brushed it off and continued working. Around 4:00, I was rummaging through my filing cabinet and saw a few ants. Crap. I opened another drawer. The drawer in which I keep my snacks. Bingo. There were at least a hundred creating a b-line from my cheerios snack mix to the hole in the corner of the drawer. I opened the bottom drawer…another hundred. In my files, having a party on the bottom of the drawer, etc. I looked on the floor next to the cabinet - it was bad. In the words of my co-worker, "wow. I can see your floor moving". look close and you can see them!

I moved my cabinet over a little and there was a freakin' ant colony. Literally a couple hundred ants all over the place. This whole time I keep saying, "oh. My. Gosh. OH. My. GOSH. Oh. My. Gosh."

After going through all my files, spraying tons of ant killer (also created a perimeter around my cube), and wiping up hundreds of dead ants I think I got them all (fingers crossed).

No more snacks in this girl's filing cabinet.
