I promised I wouldn't...

But I did. I saw New Moon during it's first 24 hours of being released. I promised myself last year that I would never see the Twilight movies in the theater unless it was the dollar theater. Well. I failed myself. And i might have even suggested that our group where vampire fangs (which unfortunately we couldn't find).

Here are my thoughts:
  • Jacob made the movie. Correction. Jacob after the transformation made the movie. Oooh I just got chills. again. When we finally move in somewhere - this picture will be found on our fridge, mirrors, closets, and in Fred's car. Ya know - just in case inspiration is needed.
  • I think Edward is Gayward. He doesn't make eye contact, he has PMS, he's gross with his shirt off, and did I mention he talks to Bella like he's blind (making eye contact with her chin or earlobe instead of her eyes)
  • Diehard fans are funny to listen to and to watch. Especially the 50 somethings in their tight Edward shirts. One lady we referred to as "the Madonna Lady" talked to the entire audience as though we were watching it at her house. Awkward.
  • Good work to the Director who had Edward's entrance in the movie begin as a slow-mo, wind blowing walk toward Bella. It got tons of screens and gasps and peeing of pants.
  • Jasper is one ugly, ugly dude with that wig and his pained expression. I now feel bad for the time I told one of our friends that he looked like Jasper. Sorry. I didn't mean it as an insult but well...it was.
  • I spent a lot of the movie with my face in a 'seriouslythisisgoodbutborderlinegayareyoukiddingme?' but at the same time was thinking, 'thatJacobishotdoesthismakemeacougarorapedofile?'
  • Americans are really fat. We sat in line in front of a ginormous family. It was sad to see the 10 year old that weighed over 150lbs scarfing a hot dog, popcorn, and soda. You'd think it'd be enough to scare off the ice cream I ate every. single. day. this weekend. It wasn't.

  • Love Love Loved the ending. I think I was one that yelped or screamed when it just ended.

  • all in all I really liked it. I might actually have to see it again in the near future.

What'd you think?

I soooo agree. Jamie and I went on Saturday. How would any sane girl pick that Edward over Jacob. It doesn't make sense. The wolves were awesome. Jasper's hair looks like he has been to the salon and had it set in curlers and teased then sprayed with super hold. Why does Edwards face not match his neck, and why do I always want to fix the makeup around his mouth? Is he wearing lipstick? It was fun to watch but it could have been so much better.

Sorry Chana, but when you know Jacob as shark-boy (one of my kids most favorite Disney movies) it feels too weird to drool over Jacob...but I think they could have done a better job picking a better Edward.....and I could have done a better directing/producing job....whats up with that?

i my gosh chana, i think you took my words out of my head and put them on my blog so much so that i am going to link to your blog from facebook to explain how i feel just so i dont have to write it! i swear so far ive been on an island alone with my thoughts! even my husband liked it.... i swear i had more fun standing in line people watching then i did in the movie. jacob is amazing him and bella totally have the best chemistry edward could fall down dead for all i care he looks constipated ALL the time. there were parts of the movie i almost considered walking out! but all in all i wanted to like and i "think" i did but come on the conversations with just edward and bella...PAINFUL!

I have not seen it yet! Going tomorrow! I thought the first one was boring and have only watched it once. I read all the books and the only part I LOVED about the books was when Jacob entered the picture. Now all that you say from the movie I know I'm going to love it...as long as there is more Jacob and less Edward like the book!! Edward and Bella together make me want to barf, personally.

I think I love you and your hilarious commentary. I will be waiting for at least a month to go and waste my money seeing the movies that are never as good as the books. :)

I love you take on the movie.... Never read the Twilight series.... Not planning on seeing the movies either but your review made me laugh and it is good enough for me! I didn't see what the big deal is!

I really liked it too and didn't think that I would even see this one until it came out on DVD. They did a much better job than the first one except that yeah...really Edward? YOu are in a multi-million dollar movie! Help keep up the facade of how a vampire is supposed to look - hit the gym and get rid of the make-up streaks and clumps on your hands. Please. That was really distracting to me. And...What is with Jasper's ugly wig? I agree that for how huge a following these movies have they need to get some people who are better at attending to the little details.

I must be the only one I know that is NOT obsessed with the series and has no desire to see any of the movies.
