Good News Minute

Okay so this is something that many of you probably won't care about or even know who I'm talking about but...one of my very best friends McKell Groneman got engaged yesterday.

I'm SO excited and happy for them. They are tying the knot on April 12th in the Mount Timpanogas Temple.

He is the luckiest guy in the world because McKell is amazing. Congratulations Kell and Joseph!

For those of you who don't know my history with McKell here are some of the highlights:
-We worked in Moab together for two summers
-We shared a bed for those two summers (spooning masters you might say)
-We are pretty much the same person sometimes
-We were roommates at college for two years.
-She makes me pee my pants because I laugh so hard when I'm with her
(yes mom and dad. literally. But you can laugh. It's funny. NOT inappropriate)

I think its dead

This morning, Fred switched the laundry from the washer to the dryer (note: the stuff that had been in the washer had been in there for more than a week--whoops!). He fixed the time on the dryer pushed the start button, heard the air begin to do it's magic, released the button and then swore. This was the discovery: the air works if you hold the button then if released it stops. If you then hold the button it will stop after a couple of seconds. After many attempts, I think we've concluded that it might be dead.

I guess it could be time for them to die. I'm not sure how long they are suppose to last. Our washer and dryer are a couple of gems that we got lucky enough to score from Fred's sister Mandy. When the Mondier clan moved back to the dirty dirty from idaho we got to keep their washer and dryer. They had purchased them from the DI when they moved out west (I think?). They work great! The washer has a huge tub and the dryer works(worked) really fast. We were really lucky! Hopefully if we do have to buy another one, we'll find one on Craigs list or KSL.

A conclusion hasn't been made on whether or not it's dead. I'm sure Fred will whip out the tools to try and fix it (but we'll turn off the breaker this time). So stay tuned. I know I know. You can hardly wait.

Praise to the Man

Last night the greatest man on earth passed away. President Gordon B. Hinckley was 98 years old. He was one of my most favorite people. I am really sad to know that he is gone but am very happy for the reunion he must have had in Heaven with his sweetheart.
He was the prophet that I grew up with and have loved all of my life. I have learned so much from him and will miss his smiling face and his amazing sense of humor.

His life and legacy will live on. We love and will miss you!
We will always strive to:
Be Grateful
Be Smart
Be Clean
Be True
Be Humble
Be Prayerful

A Sunday Drive

We just recently sold my little white car and bought Fred a truck. We haven't been able to play in in yet so today we went on a Sunday drive up Logan Canyon.

It was beautiful. On our way up the canyon we were able to see some moose, two different ones. When I spotted it, I tried telling Fred but I couldn't remember what it was called because I've never seen one before!

We drove up to the over look of Bear Lake where Fred proposed. It was beautiful. It's an overlook of bear lake which is completely frozen over right now.

It was really fun to get out and see how beautiful our area is. We're lucky we live next to such amazing views.

Here are some pictures of our day-

What is this light??? CREEPY!

White Chicken Chili

This is Fred and my favorite recipe. It's become a rule in our house to keep the ingredients in stock at all times just in case we're craving it. It doesn't take long and it's delicious! Thanks McKell for sharing the recipe!

1 lb. chicken breast diced
1 medium onion (optional)
garlic powder to taste
3 cans great northern beans
1 can chicken broth
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 1/2 cups water
1 can mild chopped green chilis
2 can mexi corn
salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. oregano
pinch up to 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/2 cup canned milk
1 1/2 cup sour cream
white corn chips or Fritos corn chips

Spray your pan and cook the chicken with the onion(chopped) and garlic powder until done. Add 3 cans of great northern beans, 1 can chicken broth, 1 can cr. of chicken soup, 1 1/2 cups water, 1 can green chilis, 2 cans mexi corn. Salt and Pepper to taste, add 1 tsp. cumin, 1 tsp. oregano, pinch or up to 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper. Heat and then add 1/2 cup canned milk and 1 1/2 cups sour cream. Stir until hot, DON'T boil.
Sprinkle tortilla chips, or Fritos corn chips on top.
It's good served with corn bread.

*We decided to not add the water. It makes it thicker.

Tonight!

Miss America...TONIGHT!
I am so excited because I love pageants. LOVE THEM.

I've only been in one but I was raised to love them. My sister was Miss. Springville and from there went to Miss Utah. Since then I've just loved them. I also directed two pageants for a couple of years at Dixie.

This year the organization has mixed things up in order to improve ratings. So they've been doing a reality show that makes all the contestants live together for a month and strips them of everything they've learned and starts from scratch. I've only seen in a few times but it was pretty funny. It made me wish that Fred had more night classes so that I could watch it!
Tonight at 8:00 pm on TLC is the premiere of the new and improved Miss America Pageant.
I am pretty excited!
If you wanna come watch it! Give me a call!! Abbey and I will be indulging in a boyless treatfull night so come on over!

Watch This!

Last night we went out with some friends and saw 27 Dresses.

This is one of the cutest movies I have ever seen. I loved it!
I would go see it right this second! So if you need someone to go with you...give me a call!
NOTE: Yes its a total chick flick but Fred loved it. He laughed the whole time.

Family of Two

I'm sad to announce that we have decided not to adopt that puppy. After additional pictures were sent, Fred said it was a definite no because he was too long and that was not cute. I'm a little sad, but also really relieved. I don't think we were ready to be "parents" but I had already started looking at puppy names.

But it's okay. Because now I won't have to clean up poop or wake up before I want to.

But let's me serious. I was going to make Fred clean up the poo or I just wasn't going to see it happen and therefore would not be held accountable.

So for now we'll just be happy as our little family of two

My New Love

Okay I am completely and totally against having animals. I really don't like them. It's not that I don't like them, I just don't like the way they smell, their poop, their shedding of hair, the responsibility of feeding them and taking them out, etc. I expecially against bigger dogs because the reasons previously listed get larger in quantity.

That was until today. I fell in love with this dog on my friends blog. I'm trying to convince Fred that we should get him because he is SO cute. He is full grown at 10lbs. So he's a cute little dog but he isn't lame like a Paris Hilton dog. He is adorable and I think I love him.
What do you think??

Water Challenge

Here at work there are a few of us that have started a little contest. I guess it isn't really a contest as much as it is just a challenge. But it is really hard!

Every day we try to drink two full water bottles. I'm not talking a small one you buy. I'm talking a big water bottle. My nalgene is a 32 oz so I'm attempting to drink 64 oz a day.

So far I can do about 1 1/2. I usually do at least one but after I finish I just can't seem to get motivated to go fill up my bottle again and drink another 32 oz.

Another thing that my water must have is ice. I can't drink the entire thing unless there is ice there. I feel really good after I drink it. I pee a lot but it's not too bad.

So I challenge all of you to drink your eight glasses a day! It's hard but it's worth it!

My husband...Grizzly Adams

Yes Yes I know. I'm married to Grizzly Adams.
Fred hasn't shaved once since we got married. Nope not once.

In October we were at his parents house in Arkansas and he came across his dad's old drivers license from the '70's. In it his dad had a crazy long and bushy beard--this is where the inspiration for his beard came from. I tried telling him that the picture was from the '70's and everyone looked like that or that his dad was working in Alaska so it was more acceptable but nothing worked. Fred decided to grow one.

I really don't notice how long it is until someone says something--which is getting to be more and more often because everyone says something! strangers at the gym, our friends, family, and other random people have all commented.

Every time someone comments I'm afraid that Fred will never shave it off. He claims to be growing it for all those who can't grow a beard as beautiful as his.
I must admit. He does look pretty good with it. He's hot.
In October I made the mistake of insulting his beard as joke and he tacked on another month of beard sporting.

However--the other night he decided that his hair was in major need of a trim so he locked him self in the bathroom for about an hour and came out like this...

YAY! He's so cute! Looking at the picture at the top it looks so much bigger than it really did. But boy am I glad that he cut it off! Love you honey!

The Blog Stalker

FYI: I work at a computer all day while I'm at work and every so often I check blogs (and by every so often I mean multiple times during the day). Lots of blogs. Including all the blogs on my list and a handful of blogs from my list's lists.

So do me a favor and update your blogs regularly! Yeah yeah I need to update mine more too but all of your lives are much more exciting so get on it!

Oh and could someone tell me how to do those cute backgrounds and the title backgrounds? Am I retarded?

Lucky Us

The Church has recently issued us a prescription of birth control in the form of 10-15 toddlers.

Fred and I are now in the nursery-Woot!

I hear that this nursery is extremely organized with sippy cups for every child, singing time, lessons and only a little bit of unorganized playtime. Hopefully we can keep that order!?

Current Obsessions

Lately I am obsessed with TV. Okay this isn't a lately thing, I love TV. Always. I am so grateful for DVR so that we can record all our favorite shows and watch them later without commercials.

My favorite shows (which are ALL on Fred's hate list) are:
-LA Ink (this is the only show Fred will watch with me). I love this show. I love their lives because they are so different from mine. I think about what cool story I could have and the tatoo I could get just so I could be on the show. So far I have no cool stories and I don't have anything that I would want to put on my body permanently. That and I would want a tatoo somewhere that no one would ever see it. Any ideas?

-Gossip Girl (Fred calls this show Gossip Queers). I don't know why. I just love it. I watch it every week. Plus the writers for this show are NOT on strike so it's new every week!

-Grey's Anatomy (Fred calls this one Gay's Anatomy). Again--love it. Wish the producers would pay the writers more already so I could watch a new episode.

-Private Practice. The plot isn't that good and Addison's mannerisms are starting to annoy me but don't you worry I still watch it.

-One Tree Hill. This premiered last night and I was pretty sure that I was way over this show. But nope. The writers beat the high school drama mold by jumping four years ahead. So far so good but we'll have to see. I may or may not have teared up in the first hour, I still have the second half to watch. I'm pretty excited.

-Anything Political. I hate politics. I don't understand them and I hate the word caucus. It makes my butt pucker. But this election has me really interested. I love seeing who is beating who and what they are saying about eachother. I'm not sure who I'll vote for but man oh man is it interesting!
If you haven't seen any of these shows--Watch them. You'll get addicted.

Happy Birthday Little N!

Today is my little sister's 21st birthday.

I just wanted to tell her how much I love her and how she really is one of my best friends!

I'm so glad that she was born for my entertaining purposes only. She is by far the happiest overly cheerful person I know! She is one of the funniest people you will ever meet and also the most genuine but totally a dork too!

All of my memories growing up include her because we were the 2nd family (there's a big age gap between my older sister and I) and by far the coolest of the six kids. Some of my favorite memories include: playing beauty parlor in which I cut ALL of her pretty baby curls off, ripping out a large patch of her hair with the vacuum (on accident I swear!), being super dorky and putting on plays that the rest of the family was forced to watch, traveling through Europe and many many more.

Happy Birthday Enny! I love your guts!

Snow Fun

This year was the off year with my family so we all celebrated this past weekend. We started a new tradition this year. We all went up to Soldier Hallow and went tubing. It was a blast!

I loved it because it towed you up (so there was no trudging up the hill, getting sweaty, falling down only to get to the top and come back down to repeat) and then they have about 6 runs already carved out so you could cruise on down. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone!

I think that this will be the new Taylor Christmas Tradition.

Our First Christmas

Our first Christmas was spent at our house in Logan. It was pretty cozy and laid back. Christmas Eve was spent cooking, eating, coughing, sniffling and cuddling up to watch a movie with some friends.

The next morning, we both snuck out of bed to stuff eachothers stockings and then we ate cinnamon rolls and opened presents. We both got pretty spoiled this year. It was really hard not to, so we went a little crazy but it was worth it!

We spent the afternoon with our good friends the Meaker family and then after the new National Treasure movie, we went sledding.
We hope your Christmas was as great as ours!
